I have researched online on “how to find a reliable moving company” and I've discovered that there was some important information missing other than just “make sure your mover is licensed and insured”. Although there is more than one way to search for movers, I do recommend you follow these tips to increase your chance of hiring the right mover.

 

Keep in mind, when you are hiring a moving company you are paying for two things: 1) Movers and equipment, and 2) Insurance.

 

         1) The best way to hire movers is to pick movers you have already used and liked. Chances are you have lost the    

             information or otherwise. So the next best thing is to ask family and friends if they recommend any good

             movers.

 

          2) Make sure the movers are licensed and insured which they are required by law. Moving companies are regulated

             by the state which holds them accountable to treat you right. Ask for the moving company's Texas DMV number

             and Google the moving company phone number. Just google the number and if you still see no moving company's

             name or mutiplue names assciated with that number, this should be a red flag. If you do find them make sure you 

             run the companies nameon the  Texas Department of Motor Vehicles  to verify they are a licenced moving comapany.

          3) Most importantly (this is the most neglected tip) Just because a moving company is fully licensed and insured, it  

             does not mean that your move is fully insured. Take the time to ask the moving company to see the “small print”

          4) Get it in writing. Ask for an email confirmation stating the number of movers and type of equipment your price will
